Client Guide

THANK YOU for booking with me!

I am so happy you're here and beyond excited to capture these memories for you! Whether this is your first session with me (or your tenth), I am so grateful you chose me to be apart of it.

My ultimate goal for your session is that it feels relaxed, fun, and true to you! I've put together a few helpful tips to make preparing for your session a little easier and the day of your session run as smoothly as possible.

Now... let's get you ready for your session!

1.) Before Your Session

This is our planning phase! Once you're booked, we'll work together to figure out the details of your session, including location, outfits, etc.

Feel free to go ahead and start planning your outfits and save inspiration photos if you have a particular look in mind. And as always, please reach out if you have any questions!

Remember, you don't need to have everything perfectly planned... that's what I'm here for!

2.) What to Wear

Your outfits can make a big difference in how your final gallery looks, but don't overthink it!

My Favorite Outfit Tips:

  • Coordinate colors instead of matching everyone exactly.
  • Keep the weather and session location in mind when planning your outfits.
  • Avoid large logos, busy patterns/graphics, and neon colors.
  • Neutrals, earthy tones, and soft colors are easy to coordinate and photograph beautifully.
  • Choose clothes that fit well and feel comfortable.

If you're stuck on what to wear, feel free to reach out! I'm happy to help you figure it out.

3.) Session Day

A Few Things to Remember:

  • Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to give yourself enough time to park, get everyone out of the car, fix hair/clothes, grab whatever you need, and make your way over to the session location without feeling rushed.
  • Double-check that phones, keys and other items are out of your pockets and remove hair ties from wrists.
  • Bring any props or special items you want included in photos.
  • Come ready to have fun!

Because my sessions are outdoors, please remember that lighting, weather, and session locations can affect our plans. If anything needs to change, I'll let you know ASAP!

4.) What to Expect During Your Session

Every session is a little different depending on the type of photos we're creating, but I always want your experience with me to be fun, relaxed, and comfortable!

During your session, I may:

  • Give you posing suggestions and gentle direction.
  • Ask you to interact naturally with each other.
  • Adjust poses, hair, locations, lighting, etc. as needed.
  • Try different angles and prompts to capture a variety of images.

I am always open to trying any ideas for photos you may have, and please don't hesitate to let me know if there's a pose you're uncomfortable with or something you'd rather not do. Just remember that some of the best photos happen when you're laughing, interacting with each other, and just being yourselves. Don't worry about looking perfect in every single photo!

5.) Bringing the Kiddos?

Let's be real... kids are unpredictable. And that's okay!

If possible, try to:

  • Plan your session around naps and mealtimes.
  • Bring snacks, toys, water, wipes, and anything else your little ones might need.
  • Avoid eating or playing in anything super messy before we start taking photos.

And please don't stress if they don't smile the entire time or need a little bit to warm up to me. I want to capture their personalities just as they are and you don't ever have to apologize for your kids being kids. We'll work through it together!

6.) After Your Session

Once your session is over, that's when the fun starts, and I'll get to work choosing and editing your images!

Here what you can expect:

  • Galleries expire one month after delivery.
  • Your full image gallery will be delivered within the timeframe provided in your session contract, typically 3-4 weeks after the day of your session.
  • Sneak peeks are typically sent out within 72 hours of your session.
  • Your online gallery will include instructions for viewing and downloading your images. Please download and back them up as soon as possible after receiving your gallery. I recommend saving them in more than one place!

7.) A Few Reminders

You don't need perfect outfits, perfect smiles, or a perfectly behaved family to have beautiful photos! Come as you are, enjoy the moment, and let me take care of capturing it.

Along with that, please:

  • Communicate with me if you have questions or concerns about anything.
  • Let me know as soon as possible if something comes up that could affect your session.
  • Review your booking confirmation for policies, payment details, and gallery deadlines that apply to your session.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my little business and trusting me with these special moments. It truly means the world to me, and I can't wait to work with you!

See you soon. <3
